At Fire Capital, we believe that impact investing is inherently personal. We aim to align our clients' investments with their personal values while helping them understand the risks associated with the level of impact each client wants to make. The end goal is to responsibly weave in impact-oriented investments to help clients achieve all their goals (both financial and non-financial).
Impact and sustainable investing methods cover a wide spectrum ranging from purely philanthropic pursuits (i.e., solely non-financial return) to strategies that seek to make impact-oriented investments without sacrificing financial return.
While impact and sustainable investments have been on the rise, numerous studies have found that investors lack of understanding of the area has been both a barrier to entry as well as a roadblock in implementation.
Our approach does not rely solely on commercially branded sustainable products, nor do we enforce our impact ideals on our clients. Instead, we aim to educate our clients in impact and sustainable investing in efforts to enlighten and empower them on the numerous ways they can use capital to "make an impact." We encourage our clients to join us in thinking outside of the box when it comes to incorporating non-financial goals into their traditional portfolios.
In efforts to introduce to the variety of ways impact and sustainable investing can be weaved in with traditional investments, we have prepared an Impact & Sustainable Investing primer.
Additionally, to aid in breaking down the nomenclature often associated with impact and sustainable investments, the infographic includes a link to our Sustainable and Impact glossary which includes some of the commonly used terms.
